Last July 5, 2025, MCares by Michaela visits Yakap Home for Children (YHC), a children orphanage located at Ciudad De Victoria, Bulacan, built by the Iglesia ni Cristo. Mentioned children orphanage provides temporary shelter and child protection for neglected, abused and abandoned children.

The fruitful visit, led by Mr. Oliver Valera, marketing manager of MICHAELA, hosted by DJ Gem of Eagle FM 95.5, and through the efforts of 20 MCares volunteers, aims to share happiness for the children of the YAKAP community through fun-filled activities, storytelling, and gift-giving.

At the first part of the program, MCares volunteers sang ‘We are the Children’ by Donna Cruz to entertain the children.

After the song performance, children of the Yakap community showcased their talents through joyful dancing and singing with the help of their kind house parents.

A performance of not less than seven (7) minutes by the Yakap children brought flared smile lines and loud claps from the crowd.

Despite the grey weather, synergistic children’s faces became more brightened—signifying that they have enjoyed the activities prepared for them, which were facilitated by the MCares volunteers. Some children fought each game for a prize, while some were genuinely happy even without receiving any.

Children’s discipline was also seen as the way they listen, follow rules, and take care of each other.

DJ Gem of Eagle FM also shared a story for the children as she read them a story about the ‘Dindo,’ a firefly without light. Afterwards, to test the children, she asks them a few questions related to the story.

The children of the community not only received gifts and food from MCares but also some new memories, which they will bring for the rest of their lives. So before the program ended, everyone, including MCares volunteers, YHC children, and staff, held hands together for a farewell song and sang ‘Hawak Kamay’ by Yeng Constantino.
